Antenna forms the vital part of a communication. A compact multiband antenna is very important for the subsequent generation wireless communication. It can be done by designing an antenna using metamaterial technology that integrates the qualities of both waveguides and planar transmission lines. In the fifth generation mobile communication systems, Beam forming is important to switch over the beam to different users which reduce the interference and multipath fading effects The objective of this seminar is to explore the possible ways of miniaturization of antenna using met materials along with the techniques like slits, slots, Defected Micro strip Structure (DMS) and Defected Ground Structures (DGS). The technical sessions will be handled by eminent personalities in the field of Antenna Design. The invited research papers will be scrutinized by technical committee and the best papers will be presented in the seminar
